Castlevania goodness

Posted in Fun, Life on Thu, Mar 22, 2007, 12:49 am

I downloaded Castlevania: Symphony of the Night on my XBox tonight. I had played it at work a little bit beforehand, so I knew, frustratingly, that it was missing the two (or four, really) additional areas from the Saturn version; but it’s still an amazingly fun game. So really, my only regret is that I have to fight a billion more schmoos so I can play with the Crissaegrim on this version. Yeah, I don’t need it, but it’s entertaining.

Interesting SCO-IBM results

It’s been a while since I’ve heard anything about this—not that I’ve been keeping too close of attention. I just figured that the case went away or something; but this is interesting. Apparently, SCO finished going through IBM’s offending code-base, and only found 326 lines out of 700,000 which were actually copied. Of those, 121 were #defines and the rest were struct definitions and function prototypes—basically useless information if you’re actually trying to steal someone’s algorithms. Fantastic.

New games

I finally decided to get an XBox 360, since there’s now a bunch of games I want for it; and I figured I should get one before our game ships. So I’ve been enjoying playing Gears of War this week, and playing with Live, when the opportunity presented itself.

I’m pretty impressed with how slick Live works. While I was playing Gears this weekend, I saw that Jason came online. Without even exiting the game I was playing, I was able to send him an invite, and my single player game became a co-op. Pretty neat.

Anyway, I put my gamertag in my about page, for those who are interested.
