The awesomeness of Wii

Posted in Fun, Life on Wed, Nov 22, 2006, 7:04 pm

I got my Wii today, (thanks Bandon) and it is most excellent. We had the afternoon off today, so I spent it hooking up the Wii and playing around with the different stuff it can do—setting up wifi, trading Miis with Bandon, trying out the neat message system, etc. The list goes on. It’s just cool how it all works. I sent him my Mii, and then I played Zelda for a while, and the next time I went into the Mii channel, he and Squeak’s Miis kind of jumped into the Mii plaza.

Oh yeah, and Excite Truck is extremely fun. Not to mention Zelda, because that was a given.

Vampires, ghosts and robots

I watched Robo Vampire yesterday, and I must say that I was a little disappointed that it wasn’t about a robot vampire. It was instead about a robot, much like Robocop, that fights vampires. These are, in fact, asian-style hopping vampires. Anyway, it was entertaining to watch the robot man fight the vampires. And in case that wasn’t enough, he fights a vengeful ghost too. The ghost shows up because she’s mad that her husband was resurrected and turned into a vampire.

The Benny Hill song effect

This is proof that the Benny Hill song makes anything funny. I ran across this video while looking for another Resident Evil 4 video. Joe had told me that there was a video of an early version of it on YouTube, and I was curious about it. I did find that video, but this is the one I’ll be posting:

Guitaring with Strong Bad

Guitar Hero 2 just came out yesterday, so I stopped by the store today to pick up a copy. After beating the first tier of songs, I decided to check out what bonus songs were available to buy, and I was pleasantly surprised to see “Trogdor” on the list. Awesome.

Miscellaneous news for November

Posted in Life on Mon, Nov 6, 2006, 10:59 pm

It’s been a while, so I figured I should post something. It’s not as if I’ve been hugely busier than usual, but not much has been happening. At work, Cars 360 just shipped, which was cool for a few of my friends that have been here a while longer than me, since they have their name on a game’s credits finally. And last week, my parents were down for a visit again, this time staying in my guest room; so I’m officially equipped to house guests now.

Anyway, I had some friends over this weekend and grilled some hamburgers. I screwed up the fire initially, but thankfully, Joe’s brother-in-law, who also came over, was a seasoned grill veteran and was able to fix everything.

I’m still deciding what I’m doing for Thanksgiving too. I have decided I’m not flying anywhere; so anything I do will most likely take place at my house, since that sounds the most appealing to me at this point. We’ll see what happens.
