Today, one of my coworkers in the tech room brought up the subject of Thai food for lunch again by finding a place near us on google map. So now I can with authority say that there is a good Thai place near me that fellow coconut-curry-lovers can go to when they come to visit me. But if you don’t know me, and you’re just in town, it’s “Thai Rama” off of Camelback and 7th Ave.
Oh, but there was a story behind the first sentence which I guess I could elaborate on if you’re bored and you’re still reading this. In our group, we go out to eat for lunch at a different place every day and hit pretty most of the major food categories—chinese, mexican, burger, pizza, etc. Yes, I know they are not all ethnicities, but bear with me. About a week and a half after I started working at Rainbow, I threw out the general question, “are there any Thai places around here?”, which caused Jon B., my coworker, to say something to the effect of “that’s what I’ve been asking for about two months now.” So, it sort of started a quest of sorts, to find a good Thai place, and there’s a big rigmarole about that which I won’t pontificate about, but we ended up finding a place on our own. But before leaving for lunch today, Karthik, another coworker who is in our room now since we recently moved to a different side of the building, said that it was pretty good there. In retrospect, he might have been a good one to ask about finding a restaurant back during the quest for Thai, but he was in a different room then and we didn’t see him that regularly, except during programmer meetings. Ah well.
